LocateA latest software turns your PDA mobile phone running Windows Mobile in to a personal real-time GPS tracking solution, which allows you to track people, employees, lone field workers, or children. Version 1.0 is a maintenance release.
I used it every time I was on the road for extended periods so relatives could see my location. It was a great app.
The whole system is offline for no apparent reason.
It was a perfect app for tracking. It allowed me to create a web page on my own server and it linked up with the APP so that people could see my location using a web browser in real time. Too bad the author decided to abandon this project without even putting a notice on the website. Did he die or something? I can't even log in anymore.
Ambiguous, no documentation, poor menu & settings (explain to the user what these one-words are for). Even going to the settings & selecting an item, there is no feedback to tell me if it did anything after making a selection.
I understand it's an initial release, but I can't use it as released because a lot of clarification is needed, as well as a help file, or documentation that tells me how this thing is really supposed to be set up & used. I am not in the mind of the programmer.
Unless someone is familiar with a similar program, I would think many users will find it confusing & not easy to figure out. I'd wait until some documentation, or a better interface, is out.
