Version: Lightworks 12.0.2
Direct connection to Pond5 which enables you to import stock clips from inside the software.
Good output quality.
Good as far as freeware goes.
IMPOSSIBLE to operate without reading how-to guides.
Requires a login every time you boot up
I have been editing video with numerous softwares for over ten years and this is by far the most user-unfriendly software I have encountered of any kind. You CANNOT learn this software unless you google tutorials. The software tries to give you tips in real-time about using it but they are unclear and confusing because of the sheer absurd and obscure location of each command. Has a really great output quality considering it is a freeware but the learning curve is unreal. I downloaded this software three weeks ago and still need to use how-tos to do simple tasks. If I were you I'd just fork out the 30 bucks for an older version of Sony Vegas, it is so completely worth paying for the stress-free experience.
1. You don't get proper information about registration, if you insist to continue, when they said something about "cannot connect...." you have to click the web they told you and upload C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\shark.e2c. Then see details, download the shark.c2e, and place it to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\. Then reopen the program.
Difficult? Not really. But you don't get proper info about that and it's confusing.
2. They ask for email, so be aware not to subscribe anything
3. They don't support .mkv (YES. THANK YOU)
4. The program takes time to download
I regret downloaded it and.......... if you're looking for video editor, look up for specific editor for specific files.
IT DOES NOT START!!!
After wasting half hour downloading the 75MB and giving them my email address so that they can spam me, the piece of junk does NOT start. It prompts you saying that "The license has expired" the moment you try to log in to use the software.
