Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

This free browser add-on puts the latest news and information at your fingertips, but you won't find any customization options.

KolayBar stretches across your Internet Explorer window. It employs such popular search engines as AltaVista, Google, MSN, and Yahoo for all of your Internet lookups. The program houses links to all the latest headlines from several news sites, including CNN, BBC, and The New York Times. KolayBar offers standard components like a pop-up blocker and tracks eraser, which worked well during testing. Moreover, you'll find tools to subscribe to and organize RSS feeds, along with page-translation tools powered by Google. You can also check a Web site's traffic ranking, company info, and statistics.

With all of the extra features, we were surprised to find that options to customize the toolbar's appearance aren't available. Even so, KolayBar provides reliable results, and any Web surfer will find it a must-have while browsing the Internet.
