Hebrew Reader is a language program designed to allow students with minimal exposure to Biblical Hebrew to read actual passages from the Hebrew Bible. Any word can be clicked to reveal its grammatical information. You can choose to view all of the information or only some, just enough to understand the meaning. In this way, you can use the program to challenge your skills and increase your understanding of this beautiful language at just your level. The text is broken into both verses and segments, which are usually of more manageable length than whole verses. A very literal translation is available for each segment, as well as three distinct translations from public domain Bibles for each verse. You can choose whether or not to view vowel markings in the text. Audio recordings are included as well; these are broken down into chapter, verse, and segment. The Creation Narratives, the Sacrifice of Isaac, and the complete Book of Jonah are included with the program. Additional readings will be available in the future according to how much interest there is in the program.
