As the representative of garment and footwear manufacturers in Cambodia, GMAC has been working very closely with the Royal Government of Cambodia, ILO-BFC and other counterparts to improve the industrial relations and business environment in order to provide more confident for investors. Recognizing the need to grow the skilled workforce for the garment industry as well as narrow the gap between training needs and existing job matches in Cambodia, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) sought for companies to set up Cambodian Garment Training Institute (CGTI) with the aim of providing qualitative and quantitative capacity building goals.
In conjunction with TaFtc International Pte Ltd, which is the international arm of Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc), established in 1983, CGTI has been launched and will provide both long-term training programmes as well as short-term courses tailored to the demands of the Fashion industry.
