The Florida Asset Protection app was created by Adam O. Kirwan, J.D., LL.M., founder of The Kirwan Law Firm and author of the books, The Asset Protection Guide for Florida Physicians, and The Asset Protection Guide for Florida Residents. Many if not most people who pursue a career in law do so out of a reverence for our legal system. I was not one of those people. Prior to entering law school, I had already personally experienced how our legal system was not at all a system justice. I have always been a pragmatist and decided that the best way to combat our system's inequities was to use legal means to help people avoid being ensnared in its gossamer webs of cost, delays, and ironically, injustices. The primary reason I created this app was to help educate people on what asset protection really is and what it isn't. I have seen countless people attempt to protect their own assets (usually after something has gone wrong) and make mistakes that hurt them rather than help them. Unfortunately, most books on the market are written to a national audience and their advice completely ignores the very important role that state law plays. I hope that this app will give you Floridians some solid, unbiased advice on this important topic. Included in this app areTen chapters from my most recently updated Asset Protection Book;Asset Protection FAQThis is a list of some of the questions I get most frequently on the subject of asset protection. The answers are short but provide additional resources if you want a more in depth explanation.BlogThis is a collection of articles I have written, news, and short discussions on many topics germaine to asset protection.
