Flappy Plane: In the Cave is a scrolling exploration game that requires you to tap the screen to keep your plane in the air. As you move farther and farther into the cave, you'll encounter more and varied obstacles, and you can challenge yourself to set new distance records as you explore.
You can choose to play Flappy Plane in either easy or hard mode, and the only other options involve turning music and sound on and off. When you have your preferred options set, you're ready to play. To keep your plane in the air as the game moves forward, you have to tap the screen. The longer you hold your finger down, the higher the plane will go, but your flight will be over if you hit the top or bottom walls of the cave. In addition to the walls, there are other obstacles that will appear randomly as you continue on your way, and you'll have to either go over or under them to keep playing. If you do hit an obstacle, you'll see a readout of the total distance you traveled in either meters or kilometers, depending on how far you got. You can then choose to continue on from that spot or start over from the beginning. Either way, though, you're starting from scratch when it comes to distance flown.
The interface of this game is super-streamlined, but playing it can be strangely addictive. The only drawback to the interface is the ads, which are difficult not to hit from time to time. There's always a banner across the bottom of the screen as you're playing, and fullscreen ads pop up from time to time, as well. If you like the game but want to remove the ads, you can upgrade to the pro version for $0.99. Overall, this game is fun to play and worth checking out if you're in the market for a new distraction.
