This free game lets you indulge your destructive nature by launching pyrotechnics, but we don't think most users will find it intriguing for more than a few moments at a time. As is the case in the original Fireworks game, you control a fireworks cannon that can move from side to side and shoot projectiles in the air. Your goal is to destroy as many foes as possible--including planes, flying dinosaurs, and green blobs--before your life runs out. Although Fireworks 2 lets you play in a few worlds, there are no progressive levels, so you're simply trying to get the best score you can. The game's graphics look a bit more modern than those of the original, but they're still just so-so by today's standards. Unfortunately, the program provides very few customization options; you can't even disable the sound effects, for example. Still, since this game costs nothing, we can see how certain folks might find it worth downloading and playing from time to time.

Developer's Description

Blow up as many things as you can before you die.
The idea of Fireworks is to blow up as many things as you can before you die. Basically, you are a cannon on the ground, and you are able to move and shoot fireworks into the sky, destroying passing planes that are trying to drop nasty stuff on you. Ground-based enemies also will appear constantly, trying to destroy your cannon with their own weapons. Since your fireworks can't harm these guys, you'll have to jump on them and squash the blighters. Every now and then, the game gets harder (you'll notice a "difficulty + 1" sign appear now and then), and along the way, you'll get health bonuses (every 1000 points) to keep you alive. When you die, your score will appear on the HighScoreTable, competing with everyone who has played the game on your computer.
