Simple to operate, this disk-drive tester utility contains enough extras to satisfy system administrators. Disk Benchmark 2006's multipaned interface arranges information into easy-to-follow steps. Results are well-displayed as graphs and simple charts. An Information tab helpfully displays system data, not just stats about your hard drives.
Disk Benchmark's tests are easy to start, and the whole process is quick and intuitive. You merely follow numbered steps and make simple decisions to choose drives, test precision, implement defrag, or close select processes. The program suggests testing on empty partitions--an option unavailable to most home users. Choosing test precision is a mere matter of picking from a single pull-down, or you can customize each of nine tests for greater precision. We had difficulty with the Tasks function, as it wouldn't allow us to close some processes.
Disk Benchmark tests are quick and the results are easy to understand. Advanced users will be able to manipulate tests and save data to successfully test a wide variety of drives in many conditions. Anyone who relies on precise knowledge of their hard-drive capabilities will find this a helpful tool.
Disk Benchmark is a program which consents the testing of the performance of your computer hard disks. The results obtained from the test can be compared to previously attained results and stored in a database. This database can be built unaided and/or downloaded from Internet. The hard disk is not the only element which determines the performance or efficiency of data transfer of a computer; it is inserted into a context of both hardware and software which greatly influence its productivity.
For this reason, Disk benchmark concentrates particular attention on the system information which can directly or indirectly influence the behaviour or performance of the hard disks. Both the characteristics of the Storage system and the test results can be printed or saved and exported into various formats.
