Editors' Review

If you routinely visit online dictionary sites and you use Firefox, we think you'll benefit from downloading this plug-in. Dictionary Tooltip integrates right into Firefox, popping up a window with definitions and pronunciations each time you double-click a word or hover and press the user-defined hot key. The program can access nearly 20 online dictionaries, and can quickly call up a thesaurus with the flip of a drop-down menu item.

The ability to enter the exact dimensions of the pop-up window lets users opt for a small footprint or a larger window that won't require as much scrolling. Students, editors, writers, and other folks who routinely work with words will find the free Dictionary Tooltip to be a time-saving solution to surfing online dictionary sites.
