Editors' Review

There are two kinds of computer users: Those who never change their wallpaper, and those who can't stand to look at the same desktop day in and day out. DeskSlide suits the second type by providing a tool that automatically changes the desktop wallpaper at custom intervals. Users can set the time between image shifts and change how the images are displayed. Although the program does not drain system resources, we found the interface to be somewhat inconvenient, requiring the main dialog box to be opened to change wallpaper quickly. We would have liked to see a few extra features commonly included in rival programs, such as a calendar display or the ability to overlay several images. On the whole, we saw little that would make this download stand out in a large field of similar freeware applications on the market.
