This simple, but straightforward, Firefox add-on lets you copy any text format while browsing the Web and paste it as plain text. It worked for us without a hitch.
You'll find Copy Plain Text in your add-ons menu. There, the options menu lets you format the copied text, including trimming space around the text, and removing extra spaces and lines. The add-on operates through your context menu. We highlighted text on a Web page, including pictures and headlines, right-clicked, and selected the copy as the plain text option. When we pasted it into a MS Word document, the plain text appeared.
We appreciate this free add-on for its ease of use and reliable performance. It's a great tool to have on hand while browsing the Web.
Copies text without formatting. Copy Plain Text gives you an option to copy text without the formatting. You can even set it to trim extra space in and around the copied text.
Version 0.3.3 includes unspecified updates.
