This program for updating sites could become your personal favorite. The first thing you notice is that the installation file size is tiny for such software--and after you launch the program, you realize why. CoffeeCup Direct FTP has no adware, useless features, or wasted space. Everything caters to the needs of a Web designer. The main window looks traditional, divided into three sections. The left side shows your computer's contents, the right side shows your site's contents, and the bottom panel shows not only the processes that take place during file transferring, but also the page you're uploading. You can drop a file into this window, view the code, and see how it looks in a Web browser. Even better, you can edit the file to make last-minute changes before uploading it to a Web site. This feature alone blows away many competing programs, making it a must-try for serious Web designers.

Developer's Description

Browse FTP servers using a client with built-in HTML editing and archiving utilities.
Do not let the name fool you: Direct FTP is way more than just an FTP client. Sure, it transfers files at don't-blink-or-you will-miss-it speeds, but it is also a complete Web design toolbox. Use it to make last-?minute edits, preview and organize your files, and back everything up, just in case. It is the FTP client with a full-blown, built-in Web editor that lets you work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and more. With other stellar features like bookmarks, easy archival, and a neatly ordered activity log, it leads the pack in power and usability.
