Pros
Works just the way it's supposed to; I have it on my USB stick and take it with me wherever I go. Available in many languages, syncs with Google Calendar and Google Tasks... can't wait to see what improvemets the next version might bring; I sure can't think of anything I'd change or add in the current one :) Oh, also - the support is really amazing. I translated the product into my native language and the support team was just - amazing. I received all my replies within 24 hours, at times even within 15 minutes! Highly recommended!
Cons
None as yet, and I've been using it for several weeks now.
Pros

- Very versatile
- Aesthetically appealing

- Quick and helpful helpful customer service
Cons
None, and if you find any, they'll be quick to help you.
Summary
I needed something good to get my life in order, so I tried out about a dozen organizer programs and none of them satisfied me. I finally came across C-Organizer version 4.0 (beta version available on their website) and I loved it. It's everything I envisioned. It contains calendar views for 1 day, 5 days, 7 days, 31 days, and the whole year. If I set up an appointment and decide I need to reschedule it, I can just drag and drop it to the new time. If I need to extend the end time, I just click on the bottom and extend it down, just like changing the size of a window. In writing a note, a task, or a description of an appointment, if I want to include a table, a graphic, or a file attachment, I can. I can set up an alarm and have it play a sound file, open a program, or shut off the computer. I keep discovering neat little things to do with it.
Don't worry about the guy who complained the it was a ripoff. I think they do the licensing through a third party, so if he had a problem, it was probably with the third party. I registered and got my license within a few hours.
I did find one bug that was particularly annoying (not surprising in a beta version). I contacted customer service with a description and screen shots. Later that day, they emailed me instructions and told me to send some .ini files. I did and the next day, they said they fixed the problems, sent me back some new .ini files, and told me to replace the old ones. I did so and sure enough, the bug was fixed. They also take customer suggestions for features that you may like changed or new features, so if you suggest something, there's a good chance you'll see it in the next release.
Pros
I have used this one now for many months. I checked. It is 3 years in fact. This one fills all my requirements and continues to do so. Utterly reliable.
Cons
II would like to see a calendar incorporated.
Pros
This program is a fairly plain program but has what I need and one of my needs was a database that I could locate where I wanted it, in my case on a hard drive separate from my OS.
Cons
Shady registration methods at best. Maybe a rip off, I don't know yet.
Summary
The snag I ran into is I decided to purchase the registration and also a back up copy of the program on CD. After paying for the registration they sent an email acknowledging receipt of pmt but no registration key. I thought maybe the key would come with the disk but I received the disk today and no key. I have sent an email to their support address and will update later on whether this is resolved or not. I would definitely be careful of sending any money to them at this time. The back up disk is just burned from a regular cd burner with a paper label printed in faded black and white, stuck kind of poorly to the surface, nothing professional looking about it at all. I definitely wouldn't recommend purchasing the cd in any case unless you have no way of burning your own.

After a few emails back and forth it was determined that my spam filter was blocking just the registration email from them but not the support email.
The registration code worked and the program is working fine although through all this I lost my entire database by trying what I though might be the code from an email they had sent me.

I have been running this for 2 months now and just today I completely lost all data in the database. This program is kind of plain but does the job however losing a data base that takes weeks to put together isn't an acceptable characteristic of a scheduling program.

I was emailed an offer to upgrade to version 4.0 which appeared to be a better version so I researched the changes made to the new version and decided to try it. I had finally gotten version 3.7 to work well with my multiple drive system (a lot of work in it's own). The upgrade required a conversion of the database file and placed an "old" copy in storage. To make a long story short, the new database didn't contain any data and when I tried to go back to the previous version and convert back to my "old" database it was corrupt. I therefore lost a years worth of database building and have now decided to just use Google Calender. My advice would be if you decide to try the version 4, make a copy of your database to a safe location such as a CD or thumb drive, create a restore point, and then try the new version. If you use a thumb drive, make sure you remove it before upgrading. That way if your database doesn't work after conversion then you have a chance to get 3.7 back at least.
Pros
I'm a diehard Sidekick 98 fan (have used all the Sidekick versions since the dos days), I've been looking for 5 years for a good solid but simpler than Act / Goldmine etc PIM (since Sidekick has been abandoned for many years). I really really like this C-Organizer Pro, it allows multiple visible folders for database groups, but it retains the simplicity and "visibility" of things that was great about Sidekick. ALL of the fields are user customizable, and the entries are not limited to 40 characters etc, so you can enter notes on any field plus it has a notes tab and a photo insert available for the contacts. It has global search, runs on a USB drive, it's modern and supported, the developer answers e-mail and seems to be working on another upgrade right now as well. Very nice features, it actually looks and works better than the impression you get from screenshots, I'm used to checking out PIMS that look worse every minute you have the program up, this one looks better the more features you discover and the more you put it through some paces, I'm impressed. 30 day full version free trial, which I'm still on, but I play to spend the $29.95, seems to be a solid well designed but "real" enough program, not fluff thin programs like so many of the PIMS out there. Seems very stable, so many of these I've tried crash easily. This verson as of Feb 2006 prints reports but does not print mailing labels, one of the few shortcomings I found with the program, but the developer is working on it. Finally a good alternative to Sidekick!

Hi Frank515,
I am another diehard SIDEKICK 98 fan. That was one beautiful, simple Contact Manager. Like you, I have tried many others and for the apst few years I have settled on ACT. It is not perfect, but somehow it does the job.
I will try C-Organizer; hopefully it is like an updated SIDEKICK. That would be the best $30 I have spent on software.

Whoops, looking over my review, it's not $29.95 it's $39.95 for the program, but that provides a lifelong license without having to pay for the major future updates, cool on that as I plan to use this program a long time. The more I work with it the more I like it, even the appointments / planning / to-do aspects are much better than I'd originally thought they were. Work with the program, punch around on its features, it's a well thought out program. I love the way you can create then save as default a template of custom fields in the database, you can have multiple templates, and neat features like the ability to "pop up" e-mail addresses and phone #'s without opening the entire record. Very nice program.
Pros
Nothing but Pros on this one.The support is quick, competent & courteous. My Computer took a dump and I lost it but the support had me up & running in 1HOUR!The program is easy to use , very neat in appearance and has features that One could actually use in every day life.
Upgrades are easily downloaded and executed and the price is right.
This is in my opinion TOP SHELF MATERIAL.
