BenchMe is a free tool to evaluate performance of data storage - rotational hard drives (internal and external), solid state drives (SSD), RAID arrays, memory cards, and USB thumb drives. BenchMe measures the following characteristics: access time in milliseconds, linear read speed in MB/s, and IOPS for a 512-byte block and queue depth (QD) 1 and 32. Maximum, minimum, and average values of access time and linear speed are also provided. It displays the detailed information on the analyzed storage device such as device name, serial number, revision, and number of bytes per physical sector. The tool also provides a list of all the available capabilities of the device.
