Auto Shut Down automatically shuts your computer down, although it doesn't properly install on Windows 2000.
Its simple interface is easy to understand, although the basic design is dull. The program performs shutdowns based on either relative or fixed time. Its relative option serves as a timer to shut your PC down once the allocated minutes expire or you can simply set an exact time for the program to shut off your system. Both operations were effective during our evaluation. Although it lacks a hot-key function, Auto Shut Down is easily accessible from the system tray.
We think more options, such as timed PC restarts, hibernation mode, and shutdown features for specific applications, would broaden this program's usability. The application failed to install properly on our Windows 2000 platform and prompted an outdated-file-system error. This app proves useful for powering down your machine while you're away, but users might want more options than this limited app offers.
