HELP & SETTINGS

Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

Though we were impressed with the efficiency of this file-conversion tool, with a couple more bells and whistles it could be far more useful. Anewsoft MP3 Converter converts MP3 files to WAVs, and WAVs to MP3s. The interface is straightforward, resembling a Windows pop-up with buttons that at a click allow you to convert or play files or learn more about the software. A help file is included yet not exactly necessary, given the relative simplicity of the software. Under Options, you can tweak bit rate, enable variable bit rate, switch modes between stereo or mono, or change output settings. Overall, this is a stripped-down, basic batch converter that performs its essential function well enough.
