Amalgam is a social word game in which players take turns adding letters to an evolving word fragment. The objective is to add a letter that continues a word fragment but does not complete it; a completed word fragment is any valid word longer than three letters.A player can lose either by adding a letter that completes a word or by losing a Hex.A Hex can be used when a player believes the current word fragment does not exist. The last player to add a letter will be asked to complete a valid word with the current word fragment. If the last player succeeds in completing a valid word, the player who issued the Hex will lose. Otherwise, the player who was Hexed loses. The player who completes a word or loses a Hex loses the round and a life. If a player runs out of lives they are eliminated. The last player still in the game wins.
