Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

The handy, if not especially sophisticated, Advanced Internet Eraser is plenty effective for most everyday privacy tasks. The program erases tracks left by Internet Explorer and Windows, as well as about 30 other popular programs, such as Google Toolbar, ICQ, ACDSee, MSN Messenger, and GetRight. Plug-ins also can be downloaded to address more applications. Advanced Internet Eraser can do its duty automatically at regular intervals, or you can initiate the process manually via a system-tray icon. The utility consumes very little memory while in Background mode and provides an intuitive interface. It doesn't offer much in the way of advanced security options for deleted data, however; for example, don't expect a file shredder. As such, Advanced Internet Eraser is probably most appropriate for home users who already have another solution for eradicating data.
