Absence Management System is a complex program that allows users to track employee absences and many other workplace events. Although it's not the most intuitive program we've ever seen, we really like the way it automates a lot of workplace functions that have traditionally be handled with paper, verbal, or e-mail requests.
The program's interface takes some getting used to. We spent a fair amount of time in the built-in Help file, and just messing around with it, it gradually started to make more sense. The program's main functions are organized in a tree-style format down the left side of the screen. The program allows administrators to create various user profiles that control access to the program's features, letting supervisors view pending time-off requests, for example, and giving lower-level employees access to basic features like timesheets and time-off request forms. The program has quite a few features that are useful for both payroll and human resources. Each employee can log in to the program and keep a timesheet (which can be electronically submitted at the end of the week) or clock in and out with the time clock feature. The program also allows users to electronically submit expense reports and time-off requests, as well as view their remaining time off. The program's features are quite comprehensive, and we think both employees and managers alike would find it to be an efficient way to manage these tasks.
Absence Management System has a 30-day trial period. It installs desktop icons without asking and leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users seeking a way to electronically handle payroll and leave requests.
