Application available in French and English Two prestigious authors: Michel Foucher is a geographer and diplomat, an essayist and a great traveller. He is Director of Studies and Research at the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (since 2010) and Professor of applied geopolitics at Ecole Normale Suprieure (graduate school for advanced studies, Paris) (since 2007). He served as the French Ambassador to Latvia (2002-2006), adviser to the French Foreign Minister (1997-2002), head of the Policy Planning Staff of the Foreign Ministry (1999-2002) and special envoy to the Balkans and the Caucasus (1999). Graduate of the Ecole Normale Suprieure of Lyon, he holds a PhD in Geography. He is a teaching assistant at the University of Lyon 3 Jean Moulin.
