• Powerful Help, aggressive marketing, impossible to test

  Pros

  At last a calculation in excel, which i s a calculation and not a better estimation. The syntax needs getting used to, especially in complex formulas, it is easy to lose the thread. The price for a medium precision version is moderate.

  Cons

  For testing this product, one will need a lot of patience. Every use will be checked by a pop-up window, which closing gets more and more complicated. If one is unlucky enough, not to have a satisfying first test - one will never come to an end.

  Pros

  It seems to provide Excel with a minimal capability for high precision calculations. <p>Frequently, the moderate precision of Excel can have crippling effects in technical uses. Round-off in intermediate steps can cause large errors in the final result. This gives a way around the problem.

  Cons

  Unfortunately, it does not "fix" Excel, just adds a set of text-manipulation functions in addition to the Excel numerical formulas. But, it you wish to integrate the result with other Excel formulas, you have to be pretty sharp with conversions. <p> <p>And the huge thing (I gave up after about 23 minutes and 12.6549 seconds) is the popups. Every time you use one of the new formulas, you get a recommendation to buy. This would not be too bad, but after a few formulas, it dosent just need an OK, but starts to ask for confirmation codes, like "type xyz to use the formula" and every time, the key gets longer! It claims that it starts over when Excel is restarted, but by that time I was cranky and uninstalled it. <p> <p>Oh, and it does not have a high-precision "random" function. <p> <p>The price to buy sounds reasonible, but I dont have enough need to put up with the irritating trial to see if it is really better than other apps that give high precision.
