"excellent program"
Version: xACT 1.57
Summary

Big thanks to the program's developer, you rock! I use this program a lot and I really can't think of too many complaints. Its been mostly used for decoding (FLAC to AIFF), and I've never had this application quit, nor have I had any file errors after converting, ever. It is very fast too - on my 1.67GHz Powerbook, I can decode an entire album in seconds! My old 1Ghz iMacG4 takes longer about 5 minutes or so. Although not perfect, I don't hesitate to give xACT a 5 star rating, although 4.8 would be more appropriate.
improvement suggestions:
1. see other posts
2. when busy decoding, xACT seems like its locked up - I can't minimize/hide or bring it to the front by clicking dock icon. Its not a big deal when I do it on the Powerbook since its so fast, on the iMac however, it can get a little annoying. One solution/feature, would be to allow simultaneous [decoding] processes. This would be especially great for older machines. Perhaps allowing the user to at least queue up a set of files to be decoded - matter of fact, I think this would be great feature to add. Currently, I feel like I babysit xACT. I have to wait until its done with current decode to load it with more files, this gets irritating since dock icon acts funny.
