gOFFICE is not affiliated with Google, Inc. We formally offered in June, 2006 to give Google free of charge the goffice.com domain name to use with what became their Google Docs and Spreadsheets offering, but they ignored the offer. Later, in November, Dan Farber of ZDNet wrote about our offer on his blog, and we still have not heard from Google. Thus, we have decided to keep the domain and use it ourselves, without any feeling we are squatting on it or doing anything improper. We reserved the domain long before Writely was released, and goffice was live on the internet long before Writely. Before that, Silveroffice.com was live on the internet over a year before any other true web-based online office suite. You can visit waybackmachine.org to verify this claim
