Publisher's Description
From Brainwave:
pzizz... Seldom do we see new software that is totally unique and original, but the launch of pzizz software gives Mac OS X users exactly this; pzizz software achieves things that have never been seen in the genre of personal development.
The pzizz Energizer program is designed to give you a powerful nap, relaxing you, de-stressing you and bringing you back revitalized and raring to go!
The incredible thing about pzizz nap technology is that it works around a complex algorithm that allows users to choose any length of nap between 10 and 60 minutes and the software creates a different nap each and every time they use it!
pzizz nap technology can create billions of combinations of naps!
Features:
- Choose nap length - between 10 and 60 minutes
- Using a complicated algorithm, the software creates a new and unique nap for you to listen to each and every time.
- No two naps are identical - more than 100 billion combinations
- Export your naps - listen to them later on an iPod, MP3 player, CD player or even a Cell phone!
- Adjust voice and music volumes separately - to create the perfect nap to suit you
- Voice recordings and algorithm by NLP Master trainer, Michael Breen
- Choose between mono voice sound files or unique "Aurora" stereo voice sound files
- Choose to have vocal suggestions all the way through, just for the intro and outro, or switch off the voice altogether
- Additional nap programs to follow - all accessible through one interface
- Simple interface - a total Aqua experience under OS X

"You're getting sleeeeeeeeppy"
Version: pzizz 2.6
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have a serious and diagnosed sleep disorder. I have struggled for several years with sleep deprivation including panic attacks, restless leg syndrome, depression, and more. Make fun all you want, but this program works, is based on science, not gimmicks, and has been worth every penny I paid for it. I fall asleep and (usually) stay asleep all night. I have gone from an hour or two of sleep a night to 6-8. Customer service has been impeccable, log onto the discussion boards and you will get direct responses from the developers. This is serious stuff. Oh, and if you just want a great nap...then buy pzizz, now. -

Summary

Not only did this app almost put me to sleep, but the sound of that guy with the cheezy radio announcer voice made me feel like i was drifting peacefully in a virtual used car commercial, rocking my mind gently into a state of reduced brain activity, reminiscent of a coma or a near death experience. Every once in a while an application comes along that makes me know why i use and love mac, and why i am grateful to have been born into the computer age, and why i am alive at this very moment and what i want to do with the rest of my life and how i can contribute to the good of the planet รข?? an application that helps me to appreciate every moment of every day and that catalyzes a true shift in my awareness and in the consciousness of computer users worldwide. This app does not do any of that, but it didn't interfere with my afternoon nap either. Then again, i did have the computer's sound turned off. Nevertheless i have to award this one 5 stars for that excellent built-in impersonation of a cheezy radio announcer! I always wondered how they ever came up with that unique and particularly annoying vocal concept. It would be nice if future iterations included some information re this in the documentation. -
"Great idea but too little flexibility"
Version: pzizz 2.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been a huge fan of using sound, NLP, and binaural beats to improve sleep and meditative states, so I was excited to see them being combined for the first time in Pzizz.
Unfortunately, the product allows for precious little flexibility and the developers seem intent on forcing you to use the product their way. The most egregious example of their inflexible approach is the horrifying buzzer that goes off at the end of the program. This cannot be turned off. When I asked why this is explicitly not possible, I was told by company executives that they fear they will be sued if people overstay their "naps."
I am not making this up.
The support staff then proceeded to hector me to use the product in exactly the way they specify, because it is the <B><I>only</b></i> right way to do so. They are very excited about the many other types of horrifying buzzers they are adding to the product in the near future.
But the ability to turn the end-buzzer off is out of the question.
Their best suggestion for someone like me -- and this is the part that really taxes the imagination -- is to snatch off my headset when the spoken voice says, "OK, it's time to wake up now." By ripping your headset off your head at this time, they advised, I can avoid the earsplitting end buzzer.
Wow.
Another suggestion made by the support staff was to hit "Stop" immediately after hearing the spoken voice saying, "Time to wake up now." Or to use command-Q to quit the app.
My experience with the product and the company have made me very sad that this product is not ready for prime time.
However, I am now hopeful that some enterprising competitor will see the opportunity for a more flexible product in this category. -
"improvement with 2.0"
Version: pzizz 2.0
Summary

Nice upgrade. No charge to users of 1.7.
Much improved GUI and Export function to iTunes Playlist of my choosing.
I use this on my iPod, especially when I travel/fly. 20 minutes definitely feels like a refreshing and energizing nap.
A very worthwhile product.
For anyone not wanting a voice added to a created nap, there is an option to remove it. -

"Terrific Nap Machine"
Version: pzizz 1.7
Pros
Pzizz is an almost uncanny generator of trance, meditation, relaxation, and sleep states. There is some soothing music that winds its way through the "nap" audio. But there's also a very soothing array of different types of noise (pink, white, etc), a number of rhythmic elements, and (I like this best) a human voice guiding you deeper and deeper into relaxation.
What's best of all, in my opinion, is that you can tailor each "nap" to your own liking, and each time a unique experience is put together. If you want a quick 15-minute relaxation session that leaves you feeling energized, you can easily set it up and listen to it. Each session will be different, avoiding the chance that you'll get used to hearing the same old script each time. Or, if you want a full-length dream-and-drool sleeping nap, you turn to the "sleep module" and set it up.

"A Mighty Effective Snooze Machine"
Version: pzizz 1.7
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The notion that Pzizz produces "elevator music" is about as absurd as saying that Beethoven produced disco. No comparison whatsoever.
Instead, Pzizz is an almost uncanny generator of trance, meditation, relaxation, and sleep states. Sure, there is some soothing music that winds its way through the "nap" audio. But there's also a very soothing array of different types of noise (pink, white, etc), a number of rhythmic elements, and (I like this best) a human voice guiding you deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Like a lot of others who have posted here, I was skeptical at first. I thought this would be another white noise producer with a recorded voice. No way. This is miles ahead of any such thing. It's miles ahead of anything else I've experienced, from hypnosis CDs to meditation instruction.
I give Pzizz the highest praise. Use it lots. In today's frantic, stressed-out world, the act of stopping for a nap is downright revolutionary. Pzizz makes this revolution as simple as it ought to be. -
"Program AND Support ROCKS !"
Version: pzizz 1.7
Pros
Says what it does, and does what is says. This program works exactly as advertised. The tech support rocks so hard, they haven't invented words to describe it yet !

Version: pzizz 1.7
Summary
...reviewers...) but ithis is great!
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is incredibly effective and NOT elevator music like the other uninformed reviewer spouted. I was skeptical but I did know that they were doing way more than just the music since I actually read things on their site.
I didn't think this would be worth it at all, but after using it my mind was changed. There are more components (including the binaural beat and NLP elements) than just the music and voice and I definitely was impressed by the effects even after the first use.
This is a great and unique product - just give the demo a try and you'll be satisfied. -
"Was skeptical at first but WOW this is amazing"
