"A real winner for $50"
Version: n-Track Studio 4.0
Pros
I'm just getting into recording at home on my computer and this program seems to have everything I need to get started. It has multi-tracks that are relatively easy to manipulate and pretty decent effects it seems. (I'm only currently working with the reverbs.) For $50 it seems like a real deal. And N-track is very generous with the length of its trial version. The company seems to be working on more of an honor system with the trial version than anything. Which is nice, because it does seem to take a while to find your way around this program. Overall I am very happy with it as a newcomer to the home recording scene and am planning on buying it tommorow. I'ld recommend it to anyone wanting to get into home recording without spending a bundle of money. I have no way to compare it with other recording software out there though, because I don't have any experience with any of those programs.
Cons
Definitely has a learning curve. But that just mean there are many cool features right? At first I didn't care for the reverb it had, which was one of the main effects that I care about, but then I found its "PG reverb" which is much nicer and easier to work with. Its way of creating and naming new tracks is a bit of a hassle, but that may just be partly due to my lack of complete understanding of the program. I would give it 4/5 stars for now because it isn't the easiest program to work with, but I bet later on as I get more experience with it that I'ld raise it to 5/5, so that's what I'm giving it now. For it's price, it definitely deserves 5/5.

"$49! Are you kidding?!"
Version: n-Track Studio 4.0
Summary
This software is worth ten times that much! It does assume you know what you're doing (as far as mixing, etc.), but the manual is fairly instructive. You MUST be running at 1024x768 to see anything because the interface is so cluttered (the one drawback of so many features, although some areas could easily be shrunk). An absolute must for the home studio on a budget!

"great pc studio, excellent built in synth"
Version: n-Track Studio 4.0
Summary
n-track is awesome. contains a full synth with drum machines. can be a little difficult to use for beginners because there are so many features. with a little practice you can record whole songs without even plugging in an instrument by using the built in, keyboard optional, synth. great value. i highly recomend it to anyone who is serious about home recording.
