"JZIP HAS A POSSIBLE TROJAN ATTATCHED TO IT!!!!"

    December 14, 2011  |   By Berniefar

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

    None whatso ever.

    Cons

I downladed the file from the JZIP web site, ran a Norton check on it and Norton said it was fine. Ran an Adware check and it said the file had "win32.pub.bandoo" Searched win32.pub.bandoo on-line and it came up as a possible trojan. Tried to look at the "comments" section on the site but it wasn't available.

    Summary

I deleted the file and I'll stay away from this software.

"Great Program, Easy to use. Supports many file types."

    September 14, 2011  |   By Makinbac0n

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

Can Integrate with windows replacing windows zip sofware. Does all Common compressed file types in one interface.
    IT'S FREE!

    Cons

    Haven't found any yet.
    Has less downloads than 7zip.

    Summary

Integrates in windows drop down menus. Has multiple compression ratios. Its almost like the old win-zip before it wasn't free. It's just a easy to use interface with many supported file types. Try it, if you don't like it, uninstall it. I have used 7z, Power ISO, and WinRAR, but JZip does all of that so that what i have been using for the past few years.

"Better than anything else on the market."

    September 7, 2011  |   By Ghenghis

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

    Fast fast fast.

    Cons

    May contain spyware.

    Summary

Listen, find yourself an older version of this zip tool and junk Winzip forever. This is a far superior program and is 10 times faster. Be careful of toolbars and other unwanted apps.

"Go with something that doesn't hijack your PC"

    September 5, 2011  |   By TommyBoyYEAH

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

    Decent for unzipping

    Cons

Hijacks your browser. I would assume they are ran by Albanian Gangsters. Hopefully when the free trial expires they don't throw a brick through my windows.

    Summary

Only one guy in all these reviews likes this utility. Doesn't that tell you something? Go with WinRAR or dish out some cash for a real zip program if you don't want to deal with these no good, double crossing pirates. Businesses who use INTIMIDATION are not people you want to give money to.

"You cannot get rid of it easily-YUCK!"

    September 4, 2011  |   By terrilaughlin

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

    There are not any.

    Cons

You cannot get rid of it. Does not have an uninstall feature. It will self-install a browser toolbar you can't get rid of easily.

    Summary

STAY AWAY FROM IT. It sucks. Shame on you CNET. I hate giving it one star.

"Great program but people like to ruin it."

    September 2, 2011  |   By loanstar744

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

Great program, way better then most any other Zipping programs.

    Cons

Well, you can choose not to have any additional software.

    Summary

Well, it really ticks me that people are putting jZip down because it's not full of Malware like they're saying and if you do a CUSTOM install, you can bypass the Search Change and the toolbar, etc. It's still a great program and if you download from the actual site itself instead of cnet.com you would get the newest versions and can download the Beta. :U People shouldn't put a program down for being hard headed and not actually checking the installer settings.

"Jzip was taken over by the Anti-Christ"

    August 23, 2011  |   By ddevitt

    Version: jZip 1.3

    Pros

Could not tolerate the cons to find any pros

    Cons

I have used versions of jzip in the past that didn't have malware. Someone must have taken over the code. It takes over the search of your browser. Changes your home page and doesn't allow it to be changed back.

    Summary

It use to be a good program to be avoided now.
