Summary
1 drawback of features. I found I had to put only the exact number of photos I wanted for 1 (html) page into my folder. e.g., If I specified 8 photos for a page, and there were 10 photos in my folder, JAlbum would put 10 photos on one page, rather than creating the first page with 8 pics, and a second page for the remaining 2 pics. This may have been repaired in newer version. Overall I like the program though

Summary
This tool is very clean and si,ple to use, and at the same time it leaves you the flexibility to do everything you want by playing with the skins. I have tested 10 other web gallery generation tools and this is the best.

"exactly what I searched for my private online galleries"

Summary
Searching the web I found a lot of tools for creating online galleries and I was about to write something on my own but then I found JAlbum.
What was most important for me:
1. Show a smaller imager but with the possibility to view/download the original image file on the second click.
2. Creation of plain HTML pages (do not want the gallery to be dynamically created by a script (so it can also be put on a CD to view it offline.
3. Customizable layout (skinning).
4. Possibility to include EXIF-Infos in the gallery.
All this (and more) is provided by JAlbum in an easy way.
