"ieSpell loses track of insertion point"

    March 31, 2012  |   By 1alexh

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

It does find misspelled words fairly accurately
It allows for Ignore, and tries to learn

    Cons

When I correct the spelling of a word, it will then put that word inside another word, not necessarily the word being corrected. Just end up with a word that starts as (for example) "corect" and ends up "corecorrectctc." No rhyme or reason to how it will screw up, but it does more often than not.

    Summary

I use it to find words, then cancel it while I correct them manually, then run it again to find more misspelled words.
Thankfully, this is a freebie, because I would want my money back if I had paid for it.

"Makes up for my terrible typing!"

    March 3, 2012  |   By sltoo

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

Easy to use & great for on line posting especially when your typing is not perfect like mine. Been using it for several years and I just got a new computer & downloaded it immediately.

    Cons

    None that I can find

    Summary

Get it now before you post anything on line.

    "Great Freeware"

    February 15, 2012  |   By stronghart

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

    Saves time
    Easy to use
Supports spell checking only the highlighted area

    Cons

It wants to correct all spelling mistakes on the page not just the ones I made unless you highlight the area.

    Summary

This saves me time as I do not have to jump between Word and Explorer to correct my uneducated spelling mistakes. It is not as powerful as a word processors spell checker but it is powerful enough for 99.99 percent of my web based needs.

I like it and use it daily.

    "It can't spell"

    January 6, 2012  |   By robert.bev

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

None, the dictionary used is not proper English,

    Cons

It can't differentiate between two words with the same meaning, and it also needs to use a proper Oxford dictionary

    Summary

Mine has started to add together the word to be corrected with the last word behind it, and add the last two letters of the word word behind to the end of the word to be corrected after the correction.

    very poor !!!

"Good easy to use spell checker."

    November 18, 2011  |   By pineapplefish

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

Takes up very little memory, and uses no space on your IE tool-bar

    Cons

For some reason on Facebook it wants to run through all the spell checks TWICE, then goes and RE-spell checks your previous Posts that you have done and are still on your current page, yet you have ALREADY spell checked them AND ALREADY posted them, then it defaults to the top of the page and you must browse back down the page just to actually find your post and hit Enter, just to post your latest posting.

    "Life Saver!"

    November 5, 2011  |   By gfoley1

    Version: ieSpell 2.6.4 build 573

    Pros

It's like having an invisible dictionary follow your every move, then when you misspell something it not only alerts you to the fact, it gives you the correct spelling!

    Cons

    NONE, works every time!

    Summary

Perfect, and works in almost every application.
