"Hours of frustration"
Version: iShowU 1.92.3
Pros
Easy to use with Final Cut Pro X
Cons
Lot of bugs. And I simply ignore crashes.
Summary
Already prepared raw footage for and published several screencasts using this software. However I am afraid today I am doing my last session. After each clip sent to Final Cut, I have to delete it from iShowU and restart the program. Otherwise it keeps overwriting all new clips with the content of the first one. Weird, but I got used to this "feature". Just copy, delete and restart. But today it started to include video from my web cam into the clips at random (well, it seems this happens each time I click the iPhone emulator window). Just crawled out from under my desk, pulling the webcam cable out, hopefully will film the last episode in the next 5 minutes and this will be the last time I use this software...

"waste of time"
Version: iShowU 1.92.1
Pros
looks cute
Cons
Takes hours to upload the final video and then there is zero information on how to access it. The service people didn't even know where it was automatically uploaded to. The idiot told me to look for it in my YouTube account. It wasn't there. How could it be if I didn't enter into my account for an upload? Fools don't even know their own software. Don't waste your time with these idiots and their haphazard software.

"Great alternative to Snapzpro"
Version: iShowU 1.72
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
My number 1 complaint with Snapzpro was that you could not change the temporary cache folder location. I dont know why they think people want to use their OS drive as a scratch disk?
iShowU you allows you to easily change the temp/scratch disk location to another drive.
iShowU also easily allows you to choose QuickTime compatible formats/ codecs for easy output.
iShowU is also cheaper, even the pro HD version is cheaper than SnapzPro.
Both normal and HD versions works on Leopard 10.5.7 at the time of me writing this.
Great to see Kiwi developers working hard. -
"Save & Replace does not work"
Version: iShowU 1.68
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been testing iShowU and comparing with other tools. Works quite well and is fairly intuitive.
IN my testing though, I found a small but annoying bug...if you try to save a recording with the same name as an existing file and ask to replace the original, iShowU still proceeds with the recording but at the end, the original file is not replaced.
Where did the recording go? (I suspect it is only in the temp directory). NO new file gets created.
Please fix. -
"Full Capture"
Version: iShowU 1.66
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Most screen capture apps use interframe compression (like an animated GIF) and variable frame rate to reduce CPU load and file size. Sometimes that is desirable, but it also makes iShowU, with its truly movie-like capture, a rare animal. iShowU also works under Tiger -- a plus for a recent task where I had to capture something in Classic (which Leopard does not support). This app is a definite must for your video toolbox.
