"Good addition to private browsing with Firefox."

    November 24, 2009  |   By egelb

    Version: iPurge Safari Caches 1.5

    Pros

When private browsing in Firefox, a history of sites visited is not retained. However, a history of flash videos watched is retained in the Macromedia Flash caches. iPurge Safari Caches will delete these caches.

    Cons

You can not select which caches to delete. It is all or nothing. Also, It does not delete RealPlayer download history.

    "WARNING! Deletes History!"

    September 19, 2009  |   By AnotherScott3

    Version: iPurge Safari Caches 1.3

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Someone requested that the author add history deletion... and he did... and it's in the notes if you look carefully... but if you just run the program, besides the obvious deletion of cache files, it will also completely wipe out your history WITHOUT TELLING YOU. Cache files are always safe to delete, but history files are often valuable things to have around. It is actually user's data, as far as I'm concerned. Nothing should erase your data without telling you. I got bit and was not able to call back some recent pages I wanted to get back to. Plus the URL autocompletion I had gotten accustomed to stopped working. If I didn't believe it was an honest mistake/oversight on the part of the author, I'd actually consider this borderline malware.
