Publisher's Description
From Fat Cat Software:
Apple's iPhoto is a convenient application to use to organize and edit your digital photos, but it restricts you to having to keep all of your photos in a single, monolithic library. iPhoto Library Manager adds an additional level of control over your iPhoto collection by allowing you to keep your photos in multiple libraries and transfer them back and forth without losing your keywords, ratings, and all the other information you've worked to assign to your photos. Libraries can be split into smaller ones, or smaller libraries can be merged together into one large library. You can keep your photos on an external drive or another computer on your network, share them with other users on your machine, sync them all with your iPod, and use iPhoto Library Manager to keep track of it all.
iPhoto Library Manager offers the following FREE features:
- create new libraries
- maintain a list of multiple photo libraries and switch easily between them
- see the albums in each of your libraries at a glance
- see the size, version, and modification date of each of your libraries
- extract photos from the folder of a damaged library
- modify the permissions of your libraries, handy for sharing among multiple users
In addition, registered users of iPhoto Library Manager can:
- create shortcut files, allowing you to open your libraries directly from the Finder
- copy photo albums from one library to another, preserving all of the metadata associated with your photos, such as the title, date, rating, comments, and keywords (requires iPhoto 4.0.3 or later)
- merge multiple libraries together into a single library (requires iPhoto 4.0.3 or later)
- Collect photos from multiple libraries into a single folder for syncing with your iPod (limit 100 photos for unregistered users)
What's new in this version:
- Fixed a problem where photos would not be imported when copying albums/events with iPhoto 9.1.1
- Fixed an issue where, under certain circumstances, some faces would not be transferred correctly when merging iPhoto 9 libraries

"it erased my main library instead of adding a new one!"
Version: iPhoto Library Manager 3.6.3
Pros
NONE - none
Cons
it erased my main library instead of adding a new one!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!
Summary
I am horrified!!! How do I get back my library????? its backed up - but it says I dont have permission to access it to add it to Library Manager!!!!
-
"Excellent piece of software"
Version: iPhoto Library Manager 3.6.3
Pros
Solves the problem of having a library that is too big, or too big for the available space. Enables effective management of multiple libraries.
Cons
Can be quite time consuming to use, but it is reliable and I'd prefer reliable over speed any day!
-
"Wonderful application does what it says it would do."
Version: iPhoto Library Manager 3.6.3
Pros
Does all that I wanted it to do. I now can manage my huge library by breaking it up into smaller pieces. Each one now opens in nanosecond
Cons
I have to remember to relaunch my default from time to time, but that's a small price to pay
Summary
Easy to use, intuitive.

"Seems to play well with Snow Leopard."
Version: iPhoto Library Manager 3.6.3
Pros
I used this app only to rebuild my iPhoto Library that was removed when I tried to uninstall iPhoto Buddy. So I really can't say with any certainty if there are any redeeming values. I can happily say that it did rebuild my iPhoto library
Cons
Most of what this app is advertised to do can be done from the iPhoto app.
Summary
I tried to use an app titled iPhoto Buddy which does not work at all well with 10.6.5. When I uninstalled the app, it took my iPhoto library with it. After reading a bunch of Google returns about how to repair the damage, the clear suggestion was to purchase iPhoto Library Manager and use the repair function to rebuilt the library. Worked like a charm, I hit rebuild library and it did just that. I lost all my filing, but that was ok, at least I was back to normal with iPhoto. It did get me over a dumb mistake, beyond that I really didn't notice anything by browsing through the app that I would benefit from at this time. I'll take an other look later on.

"Being iPhoto 9.1.1. buggy, iPLM could to be smarter!"
Version: iPhoto Library Manager 3.6.3
Pros
all what it claims to do and is what we need, included merging
Cons
but when we check 'import all duplicates' (or don't do it), we'd like to not be forced to repeat this more than 400 times in my case.
Summary
iPLM is so NECESSARY that MUST do more!
