"Solid product!"
Version: iKey 1.0.3b1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used many apps for keyboard apps switching, and iKey seems to be the best one for OSX. I only use a fraction of iKey's functions, and I'm learning more every day. I had been using Keyboard Maestro, but I think iKey has a better interface and can do a lot more. AND, Mr. Miller seems dedicated to making his product even better. BTW, his iClock app is also excellent. -
"A great product!"

I have QuicKeys X 2, but I don't bother to use it, because I have yet to find something that I want to do that iKeys can't do just as well. And the price? It speaks for itself! -
"I'm STILL having problems -_-"
Version: iKey 1.0.2b3
Summary

I downloaded this new version, and I'm still having problems with the menus when iKey's Editor is opened.
These are the menus that are NOT working: Apple Menu, iKeys Editor, Edit, Shortcuts, Window, Help. They are the ones in the menu bar. The others like Date & Time, Battery Status, Connection Status, etc. works. I experienced this same problem with the previous version.
Now, I can move the dialog window (before I couldn't), but this application still frustrates me ~_~
I'm going to trash/uninstall it now, I hope it can get fixed -_- -
"iKey is the one"
Version: iKey 1.0.2b2
Summary

I own and use both Quickeys 2.0 and iKey. Both work well, but iKey is a fraction of the price and the author is much more responsive to suggestions and bug fixes. All the macro tools I have tried so far (menus, hot keys, applescript, click and drag) work reliably and quickly and iKey provides a variety of tools (hot keys, system menu, popup menu) for launching the macros. The floating pallettes need some work (the names of the shortcuts are visible only as popups and only a horizontal orientation is possible), but the author has stated he will be working on these problems. In the meantime, I create floating pallettes with DragThing and launch iKey macros by simple Applescript. I can't imagine using a computer without such a tool and iKey is a great bargain. -
"didnt work, too bad."
Version: iKey 1.0.2b1

I installed it, the installer was a bit complicated. After it got installed, I don't know why the left side of my screen (all the menus of the left) when the app was on (the ikeys editor) couldn't work. You clicked there and the menus (top bar, left side of the screen) just didnt come up, while the ones in the right side (like the clock, etc.) did. It's too complicated =( I trashed it as soon as I had this problem (and I went to the site, read the FAQ, etc. ) -
"Still getting better"
Version: iKey 1.0.2b1
Summary

I contrast to my review before, iKey is getting better. (And after reformatting my drive it was one of the first things I realized I just didn't want to be without.) I am still questioning whether it is worth the $20 and some bugs have been around for several versions now. By 1.1 this should not only be the best around, but also nearly bug free.
