iGetter has always been more stable, feature-rich and easier to use than Speed Download. SD has the hype; iG has the goods. Auto scan for viruses. Auto UnStuff. Auto resume downloads. Auto quit. And it has always worked with every browser on the Mac platform, without the need for constant updates. -
"Download Accelerators are Hell"

These sorts of "accelerator" products are hell for anyone on the receiving end of their requests. Users don't realize how much havoc so many simultaneous requests from a single client wreaks on the server. The net would be better without these things. -

No question in my mind: iGetter has always been the superior product, both technically and in terms of feature/function. However, SD seems to have the better marketing hooks, i.e. Apple recommendation on their website, email blasts, etc. Too bad - hype seems to dominate over function as usual lately, e.g., Apple caving in under Big Music (BM) industry pressure by dummying up iTunes internet sharing. So what else is new? -

I getter was around when speed download was still in diapers so it is not a copy. Speed download is a good app but igetter is better with fewer bugs (for instance the download queue does not come to a crashing halt when one item in the queue cannot be found). -

I wish a lot more applications worked as well as iGetter. It is stable, reliable, easy to use, performs as advertised. Basically it just works and works very well. It is good enough I have recommended it to my family and friends, which means I have to live with any problems it causes them. So far I have not received on complaint. -

I like this the best of the speed downloaders. It is fast and also has the option for setting limits for bandwidth. Great job!
