"Boot time reduced 25%"
Pros
Works as advertized.
Cons
No Mac AppStore availability
Summary
The fully compatible Mac OS X Lion version of iDefrag 2 was recently released (v2.1.0) -- which now allows boot-time defragmentation. After running iDefrag on my MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X Lion), the boot time went from 78 seconds to 58 seconds (25% improvement). Additionally, all applications seemed to start faster (observed - no metrics).
There was a lot of conficting information on the Internet -- on whether defragmentation had any value on Macs. In my experience, the improvement was well worth the price.
