  The program, although I haven't used it much as I wanted to wait until I could access all the options, appears to be just what I was looking for.

  Have not received my license etc. and it's been 4 days!! They need a better system!

  Purchased the professional version after downloading the free version from Cnet. Received a payment receipt from Paypal same day. I emailed them and still have not heard anything after 4 days! Not real happy at this point!

  Pros

  The greatest is the ability to cut n paste screen captures! I love the easy function keys for time date stamps. The ability to search etc. I also use it on USB for easy travel between work and home.

  Cons

  The ONLY thing to make this perfect is to make it a web application with cloud storage and an offline mode for when connection is not possible.

  Great functional tool for exactly what it is a diary or event tracker...perfect for me.

  I am not affiliated with the company or author. I am a computer engineer and have used several types of programs for diary-ing / journalling. I have a community that has been invested in iDailyDiary for years - to say we are quite happy with it is an understatement. In a particular community interest I am affiliated with, we had requirement to have the students and teachers journalling. The requirement for each individual included managing several disciplines, personally and in groups (group projects, personal projects, discussions, and various discovery scenarios including individual and collective focus. We tried a lot of different tools for accommodating individuals to journal daily, and on several levels. At first this included using books. Many chose to use writing apps (like Word, Pages, Claris, etc). Of course, I created a forum, and eventually two forums for running two schools, however, even a good forum or blogging platform can fall a bit short for structural complexity requirement in this particular regard. Anyway, at length, and after going thru many diary/journalling -like- apps, we stumbled on this one, and it just stuck. It offers so much, and the developer keeps it up pretty nicely. I am sorry I do not have time to write a complete review (there are many features to celebrate here). I am writing this out of gratitude to the author for creating such a wonderful product. iDailyDiary is hands down the best, if not only, product in this field that actually addresses the full scope of what a diary is, and needs to be. If you are looking for diary/journaling software, its imperative you try this out. iDiary will not disappoint. I have been in the computing/software business for years. We took on iDailyDiary back in, jeez, I'm looking it up now - it was 2005. This software has stood the test of time. I cannot believe no one else has written a review worthy of mention here. I could not pass by, see that, and not say something ;^)

• iDailyDiary is a complete journal solution

  iDailyDiary is a journal/diary for the 21st century. It allows you to maintain a daily journal complete with file attachments, time stamps, pictures and virtually any other documentation you might need. It is perfect for use in a scientific laboratory setting or field work as well as for a personal journal. In a modern paperless environment it is nice to find a journal solution that includes a full spectrum of integrated apps to make your day easier.

  ...when I find one, I will post it...the Pro version covers any short-comings the free verion might seem to have...

• AVG quarantined it!!

  AVG quarantined it as malware!

  Very good until AVG quarantined my backup files and exe. file as malware, and quite severe threat. Back ups are in weird and "rare" file formats and difficult to open or recover unless you download file opening programs filled with rubbish toolbars, crapware and browser hijacking junkware. Too bad, cos i really liked this software. Pity AVG didn't, hahaah!!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Sep 30, 2011<p/>AVG also deleted registry keys pertaining to IDD, so lost 2 months of diary entries. Is my AVG being too protective or is IDD flawed?? hmmm....

  Does Not Have Spell Checker, But Can Get Spell Checking Anywhere (i.e. Internet, Word, etc.).

  Summary

  I bypassed this program several times. When it came down to it, iDailyDiary was the best for me. I used to keep all of my daily journals in an Excel spreadsheet (password-protected). This program has much better security than a password-protected spreadsheet workbook. You can search by date or by keyword(s). Fantastic Program.
