"Stay away from KavaSoft maker(s) of this sofware"

    February 18, 2010  |   By MacUser-4-ever

    Version: iConquer 3.0.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
As others here have mentioned, KavaSoft is a rip-off. In my case, I downloaded KavaTunes, and it worked during the trial, but as soon as I paid for it, it stopped working. Because of the anti-piracy protection, there was really no way to trouble-shoot it other than to contact the developer. The developer actually did respond *once* to say that he could repeat the problem, but then never fixed the problem or even responded to a request for a refund.

Give KavaSoft money if you want to give a thief money, otherwise, stay away!

    "Nicely designed, but weak gameplay"

    December 2, 2007  |   By Martin Turner--2008

    Version: iConquer 2.4.4

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The design on this Risk lookalike is very nice, and there are lots of great features to help you track your progress, as well as many options including downloadable plugins.

The only problem is â?? there's only one play level, and it's really easy to beat. That is to say, I could only find one play level, and couldn't find any reference to any others in the help files.

Ultimately, if you're not a great Risk player, and would like to improve your skills very quickly, you can sail through lots of strategies with this one. But the AIs maintain their own style throughout the game, and whatever their starting position. A human Risk player (if they are any good) will vary their approach according to their situation, according to the relative power of the other players, and according to how they observe the other players behaving.

So, really, a mild diversion, but not something for the serious gamer. (And I'm not even a serious gamer)

    "beautiful game, dumb ai"

    December 20, 2004  |   By pmeis

    Version: iConquer 2.3.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is a beautiful game that nicely integrates with the MAC's OS; however, the ai has a lot to be desired. I almost never lost on the default settings. You can program the ai players to attack only you which adds some difficulty, but it's still pretty easy to wn. But hey, it's worth a free download. And it's a lot of fun to win!! There are a number of free maps that can be downloaded. Hopefully, the programmer will come up some better ai players to download in the near future.

Superbly simple and well programmed. :)

Would like to maybe see a few sound effects in future updates. Nothing huge, maybe a few sounds of gunfire or explosions, but nothing too over the top. Otherwise, a great game.

    "A TRUE GEM!"

    Version: iConquer 2.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
A highly addictive game! Beautiful looks and very well implemented.

The registered version lets you use countless extra maps with many different themes.

I was 'hooked' right from the start and time just flew by before I noticed I spent _hours_ with this.

Can't wait to play this in multiplayer.

    A must-have game!

    "I am addicted"

    Version: iConquer 2.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
to this bloody game. I use to play the board game "Risk" and iConquer gives exactly the same feelings than the board game. I think I will buy it. The interface is neat, it is simple to understand and quite stable here. Excellent !!
One complaint though: if I try to multiple download maps, the game crashes. I had to download 1-by-1.

    Version: iConquer 2.1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
It seems to claim it has a whole lot of features, but I can't see them. For instance, it says it comes with new maps, and then I have to download them like I did in the previous version.

    Otherwise good game.
