"iClone5 work very well on Windows 7"

    August 26, 2012  |   By Barbarayo

    Pros

iClone basically makes it easy to create a short film or video game within the comfort of your own home or studio.

    Cons

Internet connection required for online activation

    Summary

It appears you may have been misinformed. You certainly can and should install DirectX 9.0c alongside DirectX 11 on your Windows 7 PC.

Many, many applications, and most of todays games require DirectX 9.0c, which is why you were prompted to install it. Doing so will not uninstall your version of DirectX 11, and both versions can reside on the same PC without any problems.

THANK YOU for the OFFICIAL Reallusion Response BUT I DIFFER!

iClone 5 Pro requires the user to install DirectX 9 components. If you don't, iClone will NOT work. THAT IS THE TRUTH.

DirectX 9 was designed for Windows XP. DirectX 11 is Windows 7's version. So, in effect, Reallusion really did NOT fully update iClone for Windows 7...and iClone still employs old technology.

In other words, iClone did a lousy patch job to make iClone work in Windows 7 x64. iClone's performance in Windows 7 suffers as a consequence.

I think it is bad news to install old operating system components into a newer operating system.

WORSE YET, Reallusion does not warn you in advance that it must install DirectX during the iClone installation!

DURING installation of iClone, a message pops up and tells the user that he must install DirectX 9 in his W7 PC--that is a very rude surprise!

AGAIN, the REAL ILLUSION is Reallusion's claims that iClone works well in Windows 7!
