  Easily accessible (more-so than any other multi-desktop manager tool I've tried) Extensive customization options. Very lightweight Fast Reliable

  None I can think of.

  Summary

  I've been using this software for over 10 years and have tried many other alternatives. There are none that compare to the usefulness and effectiveness of this tool. At this point I find it very difficult to work smoothly or as quickly on any computer without this installed if I have to take time looking for the window I want open. Most other desktop and multi-page managers seem to focus on the cool factor of how they look and act which results in them being bloated or slow. I don't know what I'd do without this. One thing is certain; I would definitely get a lot less done due to wasted time.

  Many inscrutable tweaks Probably could destabilize system if you don't know what you're doing. MULTIPLE ADWARE/ADDON apps during installation. go SLOWLY and read carefully. This is why AVG did not want to let me run it. I still trust CNET enough to give it a go.

  Summary

  To get the most out of this, you would need to be a programmer or script editor of some kind. There are a few easy tweaks, but to do anything more complex, you have to understand a lot of "OS-speak," e.g. ".CM13RCMLayoutEvent(.CM13RCMLayoutEvent)." What is that? There are also Registry items listed that would be dangerous to play with. I find it marginally useful.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 4, 2013<p/>This was intended for Right click enhancer. Irrelevant. I give goScreen 4 stars. Very useful. The only issues are the terms used (control bar, Window List, Launch Pad, Page Surf...) are not defined, and it takes a lot of trial and error to decode them to get what you want. There are also check marks next to menu items that can't seem to be unchecked. I finally got it going the way I like it, but I think I could do more if it was a more understandable UI. There was some weird transparent "bar" across the top of my secondary physical screen set to click-through that obfuscated desktop icons. It took a lot of guessing to get rid of it; I still don't know what it was or how I did it. The "start with Windows" option set two instances going; one in all users, one in current user. I removed both and put the app into the regular startup folder-no issues now. I like having the apps button window near my start button and the four virtual desktop buttons in the notification area.

  Pros

  It has quite a number of features that become more important to you after using it for awhile. It is flexible enough to adapt to your style of using Virtual Window Managers. I like having my VWM as a auto-hide sidebar on the right, so it does not interfere with my use of the Windows Task bar at the bottom. It has a lot of cutesy window transitions, but I just use the quickest switcher mode it has because I found this distracting.

  Cons

  Not a true VWM in that you cannot incrementally scroll through the larger window space in less than discrete full-window switches. Sometimes gets into contention with other programs that want to force the window map to the background. Crashes occasionally, but this is not often (once every few weeks) and it is no big deal.

  Summary

  It is quite useful and blends in with the OS after getting used to it. Must-have.

  Just super, especially if you like learning the treasure puzzles.

  Cons

  I think, as an idea, the improvement would be to add setup option with few best modes of suggested by author initializations: for desktop; for desktop with 2 monitors; for small resolution screen; for touchscreen; etc. And some demonstration mode. It would make lazy and busy folks happy.

  A typical example of developpers adding settings each time there is a choice to make, instead of deciding! Conclusion: if you are bored and wonder what to do in the next 7 days, you can install the tool and try configuring it.

  Summary

  I've been using goScreen at work for almost 7 years. It's always been a reliable and extremely useful tool. It is endlessly configurable with keyboard shortcuts, rules for individual application windows, desktop transition animations, and a lot more. I have mine setup to be very inconspicuous so that I interact with it exclusively through keyboard shortcuts. Couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase it.

  very good program, switching virtual desktop and everything else works instantly, fewer issues [compared to other alternatives ]with unexpected appearing of an open application in a wrong virtual desktop.Original nice features: 1)u can switch desktop by going with the mouse to the left edge of screen and click. Its wide: you can easily click without looking. 2) easily drag and drop open windows from one v.d. to another

  help manual isn't perfect: u cannot know which feature they are talking about, for inst: they call virtual desktops "pages" for some reason.But explanation how it works is OK.

• Can't Live Without It!

  Makes organizing soo much easier! Can create different shortcuts for each desktop. I can do homework on one page, look at facebook on another, research on another; and keep switching quickly between each!

  Cons

  I can't really think of anything! Maybe the fact that using the launcher and trying to set it up to have a certain number of rows and columns was a little difficult...it tended to snap to certain sizes and it took me awhile to get what I wanted.

  Summary

  Go Screeen is something I can not live without. I actually downloaded the free trial... when my trial was up I really didn't have any money extra in my account....I had to go 2 weeks without, and it drove me crazy! The second I had an extra $28 I bought it and couldn't wait to get it back up and running! Thank you for helping me keep my busy life organized!

• Absolutely Indispensable

  Pros

  Very configurable with hotkeys for quick toggling between desktops. Configuration can be exported and imported. Very important for me when I change jobs.

  Cons

  Just some nits to pick: 1) Better default settings. I setup hotkeys for quick toggling between my desktops and showing and hiding the window list. 2) I would like to be able to see the titles when no windows are open in a workspace.

  Summary

  I've never written a review before, but this product deserves my highest praise. I can't work without this software. As a software professional, I almost always have literally hundreds of windows open continuously. This software allows me to keep my projects organized, including remote desktops. After setting my preferences, I can toggle between desktops with hotkeys, allowing me to work as fast as I can think. Without this software, my brain has to constantly wait while I re-arrange my windows as I switch project contexts. This is quite a superb tool. As I said, absolutely indispensable.
