"Great anti-spam protection, but for mail servers."

    January 22, 2011  |   By Torsten_S

    Version: eWall 4.0.2.26

    Pros

Very flexible, allowing to use repository filters or write your own using PHP language.

    Cons

Free version is limited only to 5 mailboxes.

    Summary

Please disregard the previous poster. The author is well-known here as a local id..t (I'm not kidding, just check his other reviews). He even wasn't able to figure out that there are several editions, and yes, there is a FREE edition, limited to 5 mailboxes.

He probably thought that eWall is designed to filter junk in his hommy Outlook Express. Wrong! This is a software for mail servers, not individual users. Ok, enough about this dummy.

As I said, eWall is designed to stay upfront your mail server and filter junk mail. It includes a remote control panel that can manage multiple eWall servers. Although, I've noticed a high mem usage if it's left open for long time at Dashboard screen, the rest is fantastic! A real-time logs are very informative, stats charts have plenty of options to turn on/off to get necessary views and there is also Quarantine and MTA queue manager.

So if you are techy guy running your own mail server and looking for anti-virus and anti-spam protection, I'd recommend try this software and decide yourself.

    Cheers!

"Do you have $365 - $599 to spend on this?"

    October 23, 2010  |   By SaintlyMic

    Version: eWall 4.0.2.26

    Pros

    NONE!

I feel it necessary to warn the little people like myself: who don't want to waste an hour trying to get this to work, and then finding out through trial and error that this is a complete waste of time and large sums of money!

    Cons

This is great if you want to spend anywhere between $365 - $599 a year!
The software and services that really make this project sing are NOT free!

    Summary

This is another one of those deals where they hook you into trying their "free" software so they can hopefully hook you into spending money on those aspects related to the software that make the software work as described.

    And ...
This was not as easy as just clicking here or there and then watch it work.
This is designed for IT professionals, programmers, and super power users.
And then, you may still not get it to work!

    And to the developers ...

If you don't like my review then I suggest you not try to get free advertising by putting this in the free category/section on CNET.

The free section on CNET is for people like me who run from expensive projects like yours.
If we intended to spend hundreds of dollars relating to software we would NOT be looking at the free section of CNET.

Put your software where people with the big bucks can afford to buy it!
I'm certain I'm not the only one who hates trying out software that claims to be free, and then only have our hopes shattered because someone decided they could get some free advertising by getting people to download "free" software.

Deception is the worst thing any corporation could ever do!
What you have done here may be "legal", but it is completely immoral.
There are people all the time that claim "free download", but in reality the services related to that so called "free download" are in fact NOT cheap by any means!

    My time was wasted here!!!
