"Hard-pressed to successfully download anything"
Version: eMule 0.50a
Pros
It's free. Does not seem to come bloated with malware.
Cons
It's bloated plenty in draining system resources.
It might return 70 results, but if you try to download all of them, you won't get 1kb out of any single one of them.
Won't automatically configure firewalls, as most other P2Ps have.Summary
Weak. This is no limewire replacement. You'll find it locked up when it tries to start, making you ctrl+alt-delete it from running, then re-starting it.
My experience would not rate this above 2 stars. -

"Don't expect it to be a replacement for Limewire."
Version: eMule 0.50a
Pros
Seems capable of sharing a wide selection of file types.
Cons
Took a seemingly endless amount of time to even begin a download.
Summary
Wait for the next file sharing software, if there is one. Or, suck it up and start paying for the stuff you want.
