"Gross misrepresentation by customer service rep"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.4.0.521
Pros
I loved it for a minute, but it was a bit expensive to have for $16.95 a month when we only used it a few key times a year.
Liked the convenience. AWFUL, AWFUL,AWFUL customer Service!Cons
I called to cancel our month-to-month plan (which was unlimited receiving & sending faxes). Our company has been struggling I explained to her, money is tight & we have only been using intermittently. The Customer Service Rep offered a yearly rate of $50 a month to keep me from cancelling. Sounded great. She failed to tell me, even hint, that it was a different plan that only allowed receiving up to 30 faxes a month. If we sent faxes they would cost about $5 or $10 a page. Which I found out after the fact when Efax charged my account $10. Efax has a strict "no refund" policy no matter how grossly negligent the rep was. I felt as if they PURPOSELY WITHHELD INFORMATION just to make a buck! This seems like such gross negligence that I will probably go to the BBB with this & any other format I can think of!
Summary
The fact is they did said me an e-mail confirming the "change". I did not look at the email before sending a fax. This part was my fault. However, where in the HELL is the CUSTOMER SERVICE in this? The rep never hinted that ANYTHING was different or I would have rushed to my email. I even DIRECTLY ASKED if there was anything different besides the price in changing from month-to-month & going to a yearly plan..She said "No". After I called about why I was being charged $10, I talked to a supervisor who was going to cancel my subscription but refuse to refund my money. Really? Really? You'll cancel my account & keep that money? Where is that Customer Service at all!
I am not racist but the call center was foreign & heavy accents. Hard to understand the thick accents and I had to constantly ask them to repeat themselves. This only adds to the frustrations. I will Not promote their service, and I will demote EFAX continuously, every chance I get, what a CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE company Efax is. They obviously are all about TAKING MONEY and not worried about keeping customers. -
"too much work for a free trial"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.4.0.521
Pros
n/a didn't stay long enough to find the pros
Cons
download and purchase, no free trial
Summary
you have to download then chat online with rep so they can confirm if there is a free trial (???) I wasted twenty minutes for nothing. I want to try products and keep only the ones I really think are good. This one I didn't stay long enough, just the first impression is terrible.

"Canceled my service"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.4.0.521
Pros
Good if -- and that is a big IF -- it works
Cons
Maximum file size is 10MB. If you have a lot of pages or need to send something in high resolution its an issue. I have experienced numerous error messages in sending faxes over the past 2 months. This is not convenient.
Summary
I'd used the product to receive faxes in the past and send a few too. However, when I signed up for service this year I've had a number of issues and the bottom line for me is that I can't trust the service anymore.
1) There seemed to be a number of times where the service was down temporarily. When I received emails from tech support they acknowledged the issue but said:" we would be unable to predict an exact date by which the service could be functional."
2) Faxes I sent around the time I had the technical issues "went through" per eFax, but only 1 of 11 faxes I sent to my insurance company Anthem Blue Cross went through. -- I only found this out after I called them because I had not received reimbursement. They could only locate 1 of the 11 faxes I sent to them. -- This seems improbably and I don't trust that the faxes eFax claims we through actually went through.
3) I thought eFax would be inexpensive and convenient. I not only paid for a few months of service, but now have to pay someone else to send everything that eFax says were sent and this has been anything but convenient.
I canceled my service and am heading out to re-fax everything using a landline service. I won't use or recommend eFax again. -

"It never worked but they billed me anyway"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.4.0.514
Pros
It never worked. How can I find anything positive from that.
Cons
It never really worked.
Summary
Efax gave me one number based on their free service. It would never work correctly. They then, after the free trial was over, switched me over to the Efax Plus, but never gave me the new number. They did, on the other hand, bill me for it. When I brought this to their attention and asked for a refund, they refused, even though the customer service representative himself couldn't find the Efax Plus number. The only way they could even trace that I had an account was via my credit card number. Their final reason for refusing the refund was because I had received 3 faxes in my "inbox". Even though they were SPAM faxes, it counted as far as they were concerned. If you are even THINKING about using them, watch them like hawks since clearly service was of lower priority that scrapping for pennies.

"How can eFax be anything less than Spectacular?"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.4.0.514
Pros
Get my emails no matter where in the world I am.
Cons
None that I can think of
Summary
If you get a lot of faxes, travel a fair bit, eFax is a must have. No matter where in the world I am, if I have an internet connection, I have access to my "fax machine". Need a hard copy? Most hotels have printers or you can fax it to the Lobby to print. Been using it for over 10 years.

"BEWARE SCAM"
Version: eFax Messenger Plus 4.3.409.0
Pros
Scam!!!!!!!!!!
Cons
Charged my credit card without my consent.
Summary
I had tried this service for the 30 day free trial for five days and then had canceled the service I was given a cancellation number but it meant nothing because they had charged my credit card $27.95 I tried to call to have the charges taken off of my card but I was told that I would have to remember what link I had used to sign up on the website and then would have to email them back the information so that they could credit my card back. I called my bank and my bank did confirm that this company was a scam to consumers.
