"Soooo complicated it takes a weenie to figure it out"

    June 14, 2010  |   By beesknees4cat

    Version: e2Sync Tiger 2.8

    Pros

    +1 for easy download

    Cons

-4 for complicated double jump through several hoops to get the darn thingy running, then several more hoops while you figure out yet another whole new menu

    Summary

When will someone write a very simple app for Android sync to Apple Mac Address Book? Obviously for $29.whatever one can buy the golden hosing of your bank account ... I would expect these clowns to pay me to test this crapola.

    "WARNING:: do NOT purchase.."

    November 2, 2009  |   By Avg_User

    Version: e2Sync Tiger 2.8

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I purchased 2 licenses quite a while ago for my wife and my laptop, and my desktop. We had Tiger, but upgraded to Snow Leopard when it came out. We read their entire website and it stated they were working on a leopard version, so my belief was that it would be done in a reasonable amount of time. I purchased at that moment because their site stated that upgrades were free at that moment for anyone purchasing and that they were running a special. Little did I know that they NEVER update their web site and that they are 1) Always running the special. 2) Upgrades seem to be free because they are never planning on doing one. Why do I believe they are never planning an upgrade? Because in the last 6+ months, I have contacted them via their online support page (I could not find any phone support like they state they have), on at least four separate occasions, and have NEVER a single time ever received an email response from anyone there. I don't think they even look at their email. Their customer support is NON-EXISTANT. I have never been able to get the product to work properly. Now, that I am on Snow Leopard, I guess I shouldn't expect it to, but I doubt I will ever see an upgrade or fix for any of their bugs. Take a screen shot of their web page and compare it over the next year. I am sure it will be the same from month to month.

Please, do not waste your money on this product. I don't have any suggestions as to what would be better, but not spending money on a product that doesn't do anything for you, has got to be better.

"e2sync is a waste of money and redundant"

    March 15, 2008  |   By victhrill

    Version: e2Sync Tiger 2.8

    Summary

e2sync is totally unnecessary to me and I imagine the vast majority of people. I don't need to sync specific categories and from what I've observed it's giving me the exact same results as I was getting before I bought it, just syncing Entourage with .Mac/Address Book/iCal and my iPhone using the built-in Entourage sync functions in tandem with iSync. What I'm really looking for is a way to get my Tasks and Notes in Entourage to show up on my iPhone and this doesn't do that. It's clear that I would need a 3rd party app on the iPhone that could even make such a thing possible and so far I haven't found that! I had a Treo 650 before the iPhone and the e2sync wasn't necessary for that either. For most I would say e2sync is redundant and a waste of money since Entourage and OS X already come with a working sync.

    "Mediocre performance, NO support"

    January 9, 2007  |   By ravi_subrahmanyan

    Version: e2Sync Tiger 2.8

    Summary

I'm afraid I have to agree with the other writers about lack of support and unreliable operation. I bought this sometime ago based on the reviews. It seems to work for certain things, but the main attraction, i.e. handling of categories, simply doesn't seem to work properly. I end up with many "junk" categories in the Addressbook.

And entries in iCal show up with strange timezone issues, so it looks like the main entry is translated but timezone information is messed up. You have to go in manually into iCal and fix the timezones for each entry.

The documentation and webpage promises a very quick response before you enter the comments, but after that there's a message saying not to expect a quick response! I have had zero response so far. They should at least state honestly that they will not be able to support the product.

Its hard to recommend this version. Save your money for now, until they improve support or fix the product.

    "Fast, reliable, comprehensive"

    June 20, 2006  |   By MentalColic

    Version: e2Sync Tiger 2.8

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I use MS Entourage, Palm OS4, and Moto ROKR phone. This program is the only "one stop" solution I've found for reliably syncing all of these devices, and it is MANY times faster than the various other programs or built-in partial solutions. Yes, it assumes that the user is not clueless on the using their own hardware and software. A reasonable assumption, and their instructions are clear and easy to follow. Each device is unique, do not make the mistake of thinking that the data will look identical on every device. All E2Sync does is match fields as best as it can. I have found that the easiest solution to prevent "lost data" is making sure you know the sequence and type of sync between devices and programs. You may have to run 2 sync operations and turn off one device for each, etc. For example, I first sync Entourage to my Palm 515, then sync the Palm to the ROKR in a separate sync process. This assures the sync path I desire. All contacts, calendar events alarms etc. sync without a hitch.
