Version: dBpoweramp Music Converter 13.3
"dbpoweramp music converter crashed - can't install"
Pros: need to convert mpga ringtone files. don't want to download from malware codec sites.
Cons: download went fine. ran installer and a dos command line window popped up and crapped out. can't install program. looked for partial install on system - nothing there.
anyone else have this problem? running xpsp3 with all patches.Summary: executable doesn't seem to be corrupted but installer crashed and you can't install the product right out of the box. read more

Version: dBpoweramp Music Converter 13.3
"Brilliant utility for audio conversion"
Pros: It is very straightforward to use, with an intuitive interface lacking clutter. In operation it is very quick, and the results are generally excellent, giving a range of options for exporting and saving converted files. Lots of associated codecs.
Cons: For my purposes it fulfills what I need. The only gripe I have is that it is not always clear which of the available linked utilities are available or necessary, but this is really a minor gripe.
Summary: An excellent utility for converting most audio files into different formats. Quick in operation, easy to use, and uncluttered. It is also very cheap for what it can offer. read more
