"Out of my list....it has NO playlist"

    February 28, 2006  |   By praveen360

    Version: dBpowerAmp Audio Player 2.0

    Pros

U can try XPlayer (had few flaws) which is the best LOW resource consuming player.

    Cons

dBpowerAmp Audio Player uses the CPU & Memory resources as all other players, then why compromise with this application.

    "Come on. There's NO competition!!!"

    February 24, 2006  |   By Tomcatjjr

    Version: dBpowerAmp Audio Player 2.0

    Pros

This is by far the best player on the planet. People really need to grow up and learn that there is more out there than just winamp and windows media player etc... Whatever! Compared to this, they are toys. Poweramp has the greatest quality sound and features and you definitely wanna go sign on at their website and get the BLACK BEAUTY skin. 20 band equalizer etc..

Further more, the BLACK BEAUTY skin gives you an always-on-top small widget for easy volume control, skip, pause, playlist editor, and more, all right there at your fingertips. And the my-music-collection (MMC) option lets you rate all of your songs on a five star basis as well as an en-queue feature so you can right click a song and add it to en-queue and that is the song that plays next. Or en-queue 20 songs if you want and they will be the next played!!! Absolutely amazing! And on top of this, if you add MP3 GAIN, also from this site, all of your songs will be the exact same volume. What more do you want. I could go on all day, but will let you go and download this yourself and see. Trust me. Get it now. There is no alternative.

P.S. For you harcore music freaks, I highly recommend you get the DB Music Convertor as well. Ogg to mp3. mp3 to wave. Wave to monkey. and every other conversion you want easily.

    enjoy

    Cons

Ya, the one con I have is that there is nothing bad I can say about this product. ;)

Trust me get it now and get rid of the rest. You're doing yourself a big favor. I wish I were rich, I'd support the company!

"Overall the best you can get"

    January 22, 2006  |   By Leojos

    Version: dBpowerAmp Audio Player 2.0

    Pros

This player is probably the best for day to day listening of one folder of music. Depending on how you configure it, it can function just as itunes does (one main window with all music files+search)without the annoying store or using a ton of system resources. On my pc, it uses 8-16 times less ram than itunes! It also works with microsoft media keyboards, closes to taskbar (if miniplayer is enabled), and is skinnable!

Also no spyware whatsoever, and an extensive help forum. For those who had trouble installing (as I did), the tech team has program to download from the help forum (forum.dbpoweramp.com/) that restores the program to what it should be. Afer my first fix, it has been very stable.

Even more: if you enable dbpoweramp to open on startup, it keeps playing the last song. Super nice after a restart.

    Cons

The user interface is a little sparse at first, most buttons open in a context menu. Skinning the library player, called my music collection, which is the player most people will use, is very difficult, and requires much scouring of the forums to figure out. The player will also force your media keyboard to control the programs volume instead of system volume. to fix this delete dapkeycontrol.dll - easy! This program could also be a lot better looking, until after I made my own skin, the gray scheme was terrible.

This program will turn off a lot of users at first because it has a fairly steep learning curve for an audio player, but in the end, its worth it. By far the fastest player arounds, and once learned, the most user friendly.

"Superior media player even over WMP10"

    December 23, 2005  |   By skipjaxn

    Version: dBpowerAmp Audio Player 2.0

    Pros

Outstanding audio and control options. I feel like I'm back in control of my music.

    Cons

Not for that faint of heart. If you're a newby or lemming, stick with WMP. Controls are not intuitive nor is the media library.

    "Not worth the download"

    December 14, 2005  |   By ganerd

    Version: dBpowerAmp Audio Player 2.0

    Cons

Has 2-1/2 time the memory footprint that XMPlay has. Takes almost as much resources as Microsoft's player.

It had a realcheezy interface. The editing screen workes in full screen only as it has no bottom scroll bar.

As far as skins ... there is not any down-loadable as of this writing. The hyperlinks on the site were not to valid locations. There is VERY little support. Q and A page had only one answer.
