"Excellent software. Well worth its price and more."

    July 15, 2009  |   By t3h1337g33k

    Pros

Goes further than simple TCP/IP tweaks in XP to dynamically optimize the connection, working as a compliment to them. Program is very responsive and has an excellent QoS engine. Good UI allows easy adjustment/calibration.

    Cons

Can take some time for it to reach max performance(but well worth it). Setup may need some advanced configuration for the program to work correctly on some ISPs and network environments. Program will not work correctly if the user blocks pings.

    Summary

This is a very intelligent program that allows QoS prioritization of any program, as well as adding much needed TCP autotuning to 2k/xp via its network driver. The program measures pings and throughput to shape traffic optimally. It can be set to favor pings or bandwidth for different kinds of apps at the click of a mouse. It also has nice extras like bandwidth caps and online budgets. PCs I tested with this app with this app and Windows XP on higher bandwidth connections actually beat Linux boxes on higher latency sites(both OSes stacks were optimized), on the same network. Given that xp has a shoddy network stack compared to nix, I do believe that says alot for the performance of this app. I have been a happy user for a few years now, since version 2.12 came out.
