Initially it was loading and browsing faster than chrome on win 8 platform. You can open new tabs and they load very fast.
Cons
When you leave your PC idle or a sleep and then attempt to resume the browsing it takes a long time for the browser to reload or work. Additionally, after some intense use the browser was freezing and tabs were shutting down.
Summary
Looks and feels nice until you begin putting it to use. I would give this a big pass.

Pros
Doesn't use a boatload of memory like other browsers. Tabbed browsing.
Cons
Lost of pop up ads no matter what the settings. The browser also reloads the pages after every few minutes. I am unable to view videos, read a page, or download from sites without an interruption.
Summary
After using this turkey of a browser, I am ready for a much better one.

Maxthon 3 that is

It's free - and nothing else

It's merely Internet Explorer with a different interface.
It's more cluttered than Internet Explorer.
A problem getting home page to appear on start-up.
It's rubbish.
Summary
If you run this all you are doing is running a more cluttered, more geeky version of Internet Explorer. After installation all of my settings, favourites, etc were there in this browser. Unless you like wasting your life away, it's a total waste of time. You would have thought these developers would have better things to do with their time.

It seemed fast when it worked.

I like Opera and there was a definite conflict. The problems I saw in Maxthon may have been caused by Opera, but I know the problems that started arising in Opera was caused by Maxthon. I kept the one I trusted.

Most of the features are useful. Stability better than most IE engine driven versions. Can handle enough open tabs.
Cons
Would like to see " restore last X pages " when tab disappears. Would like to be able to edit URL. The cursor keeps disappearing. Would like to see emergency shutdown when Vista starts going schizo
Summary
I really used to like Maxthon best of all but I suspect the latest MS updates are designed to interfere with unapproved apps. I hope they can use the stable guts of the MS engine ( if that's possible ) and keep MS from screwing up the browsing. I think the Euros have something in ( effectively ) banning IE. I don't know the cons of stripping the IE engine for parts but I'd sure like to see what could be done.

Summary
Maxthon is a great browser which uses the Trident layout engine like IE so I can open web pages that usually require IE to work. It also means I can customize it by adding different skins and selecting IE plugings for use. However, there are some web pages and plugins which causes it to crash and some games that require ActiveX cannot be loaded or give problems. It is best to get the latest Maxthon browser instead of Maxthon classic.

Its fast, consumes less Ram, and guess what? doesn't hangs occasionally, apart from it there is a magic key, by which tabs get disappear(default ctrl+` or alt+`), Its second best to FF in security but overall Its best.
Cons
Sometimes it gets error, and shuts down.
Summary
Recommended for those who wants a strong alternative to FF, with all the similar but whose computers cannot bear the memory eaten up by FF, Its much better than any other browser.
