Pros
Within its limited realm the editor seems to get by.
Cons
- Prohibits users from selecting proportional fonts (is this editor stuck in 1960?)
- Help is not installed in default download
- Cumbersome custom plug-in configuration is required to edit ASP files
Summary
If you like the courier font and don't mind the broken help functions (or are willing to take the time to fix them), this could be the editor for you.

Good interface, easy to use, syntax highlighting for most languages, good ftp support.
Cons
Word-wrap bug often causes the program to crash when pasting a large string (e.g. large url) into a document, making it unsuitable for writing web pages.

PSPad tries to access the internet every time
I (& many others) launch(ed) PSPad.
The developer & team have no interest in
addressing this issue & in fact told me
to use some other program. I now use Notepad++

Pros
If you hand code at all, this is the editor to use. Feature rich and still easy to use. I've been using PSPad for nearly a year now and I can do what I need to do quickly and easily but when I slow and check the menus I can still find another feature that makes some task easier.
I have used the search and replace function on numerous occasions and have not had any problems.
This is free software that would be worth paying for.

Pros
Not only can you create and edit code, PSPad allows you to have code highlighting enabled so you can easily alter and create code faster. Furthermore, if color codes are needed to be inserted, there is a built in color picker that can enter color codes for you. Also, it has FTP support, you can create projects, and its ALL FREE!

Pros
lightweight, very good syntax and brackets highlighting, code completion for (at least) PHP, JScript, CSS and HTML, and all the functionalities you'd expect from a programmer's editor.
If you don't need the visual part of the Dreamweaver editor (and you could still use NVU for that), it's a very good alternative
Cons
closes quotes and tags automatically, making it sometimes a bit frustrating when you're editing PHP or Jscript.
