    "Great Program"

    June 16, 2006  |   By DaSpEcTeR

    Version: ZoneAlarm 6.5.722

    Pros

I have the security suite version of this product. I have had this product for about two years. From the free firewall to the security suite. It's honestly a great product. It limits what programs can do, has a GREAT firewall. It blocks so many attempts on my computer. The spyware blocker is useful, but as recommended by c|net it's best to have more than one. You should get the free version, and if you like, get the full version.

    Cons

In the program control tab, I would have really liked a feature to flush out this information because some files are no longer in use. When a program installs, the installer may want to use the internet, use MS Installer and so forth. When it's finished the information is still in the program control log and has to be deleted manually. Not a big deal though.

"Quick upgrade from last release--works well still"

    June 16, 2006  |   By pentium4forever

    Version: ZoneAlarm 6.5.722

    Pros

Is very easy to use, and does it's job. Seems like a quick fix and the notes say it was due to a bug with CPU usage being excessive. I never experienced it on it.

    Cons

Antivirus monitoring isn't free, however even when it was AVG Antivirus isn't detected. AVG is good enough and by golly 30 million users worldwide demands it be detectable with ZA.

"Cause system crash when connecting online with PeoplePC...in my case"

    June 16, 2006  |   By fellow_downloader

    Version: ZoneAlarm 6.5.722

    Pros

This is the best firewall, and I would disable the windows firewall and the Norton personal firewall just to use it...too bad it cause my computer to crash and to restart when I try to go online using the PeoplePC connection tool. Will wait for further release.

    Cons

This version, ZoneAlarm 6.5.714, and the previous version, 6.5.700 both cause my computer, which is running windows xp home, to crash and automatically restart when I try to get online using the PeoplePC connection software. Other previous releases were fine...

"ZA PRO 6.5.714 -- NOT GOING TO UPDATE!"

    June 16, 2006  |   By DRDRJAY

    Version: ZoneAlarm 6.5.722

    Pros

Program is probably great as usual, but I'm not goin g to upgrade ...

    Cons

I've used Zone Alarm Pro for years...it works very well, despite an annoying habit of listing every .exe file it can find on my computer in the programs box.

However, I'm a loyal and very long-time user of McAfee VirusScan and the latest upgrade wants me to uninstall it. NO WAY!

I'm not going to rely on the unproven Zone Alarm anti virus versus the tried and true McAfee.
