Version: ZoneAlarm 5.5.062.004
Pros: I've made a point of not reviewing anything until using them for a week, so this review will be pretty accurate, I hope.
It does not use much system resources, and runs very smoothly. (I have 256 mb of RAM)
(oh yeah, on task manager, it says 1,167 kb memory used, that is VERY little)
It's easy to use, every time something tries to access the internet, you have 2 buttons, yes or no. You also get a box that says 'remember this' or something like that so next time the program is run you dont' have to click yes or no again.
This program has let nothing in yet, and it says it has blocked one intrusion attempt.
The internet lock and internet stop functions are useful for blocking your connection immediately.
All in all, great program.
Oh yeah it's FREE! (and truely and honestly free too!)
Cons: Can't figure out how to change the action taken after you choose something...I picked yes for something and now I want to disable that but can't find a way.
When just starting to use the programs, you'll probably get a lot of little bubbles asking yes or no...this becomes less of a problem later on.
Anyways, the best firewall I've found so far, so I deeply recommend this.

"The Free and Pro versions are the best."
Pros: The Free and Pro Versions don't eat up your resources. Zone Alarm is essential for DSL and Cable users because, you can get attacked really easily.
Cons: The Security Suite with the anti-virus slows your computer like hell. I ran it by itself and I'm running a 2.5 Ghz Computer with 256 MB of RAM. No cons with free or pro. Also, the trial version has a annoying nag screen that you can't shut off when it loads. I have to get rid of the trial versions or other people that use the computer might shut it off and I will get attacked.

"Great Firewall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: This program is a great way so that nothing happens to your computer in that you get hacked and your computer crashes. ZoneAlarm is really easy to use.
Cons: There's nothing bad you could say about this program.

"Does Not Work! Tech Support won't help."
Pros: Free version worked okay. They updated it and I had access problems. I paid for the pro version to fix the problem. Later they updated it again and now all internet connections were blocked. Worked fine one day and then out of commission the next day. I'm Using WinXP and I've just read dozens of other complaints like this. Do not buy this one.
Cons: I did not realize that my router already had a "hardware firewall" so the zonealarm was just added weight which slowed everything down. I'm very unhappy that the company forced me to pay for the pro version and now will not lift a finger to help. I have removed the program and now I'm up and running better than ever. I guess I'm just out the money.
